Mitie to install electric vehicle (EV) charge points for the Environment Agency - FMJ
Abstract
Mitie has won a £4.5m contract to install and maintain electric vehicle (EV) charge points for the Environment Agency. The contract will see it establish an EV charging network across over 100 sites across the UK. Mitie will design and install approximately 450 EV chargers and be responsible for their operation and maintenance during the contract. This builds on Mitie’s experience in this space. With around 2,500 electric vehicles on the Mitie fleet, survey and installation teams will use EVs to use EVs wherever possible, reducing transport emissions in the delivery of the chargers.

Can I Force My Building to Install Electric-Car Chargers? Q: I own a co-op in Woodside, Queens, with a dedicated garage that is locked and only I have access to it. I want to buy an electric car, but the garage does not have electricity. Con Edison informed me that if I install electricity in my garage, it will connect the line to the grid. However, my co-op board will not give me permission to do the work, saying that the technology is still new and may change. Can the board refuse my request? ...

The installation of new commercial and consumer EV charging points (EVCP) currently cannot keep pace with the UK’s uptake in the number of electric vehicles on the roads finds new research. Construction industry insight expert, Glenigan, has published a proprietary report which explores the state of the nation’s electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, and offers a contemporary snapshot of how the UK is supporting the rise of EVs for commercial and residential use through the establishment of c...

This has been a wild week across the country with weather. However, with our push for electric vehicles it has exposed an Achilles Heel to recharging that vehicle. In my area and in many others this week there have been massive power outages. At my house we were down for about 5 days. I am one of the lucky ones as I know of plenty of people that might have another week before they get service. If you had decided to run a fleet of electric vehicles you would have probably a day of power and then ...
