Ohio Top Court Says Lake Erie Offshore Wind Project Can Proceed

Lake Erie Energy Development Corp. will build a six-turbine ‘Icebreaker Wind’ project, set to generate about 20.7 MW of power. The cost of the project was estimated at $173 million, according to cleveland.comLEEDCo did not say when construction might begin, and did not respond to inquiries. The Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Port Authority has backed the project. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Coast Guard had previously reported that they expect “negligible impacts to birds and bats.
