John and Joanne’s Garden - FineGardening
Abstract
Today we're visiting John and Joanne's garden in Abbotsford, British Columbia. It took quite a few years before the place had a garden look. In a windstorm that reached gusts of nearly 100 km/hr on March 10, 2016, a cottonwood tree came down and took a 20-inch-diameter Douglas fir and a cherry tree near the deck with it. Not fencing the yard allows the garden to add borrowed landscape from the creek and the trail next to it. Slender deutzia in spring bloom Sometimes the trunks of mature trees are the most spectacular feature in any garden. View of the back garden, looking out to the trees beyond Have a garden you'd like to share? Have photos to share? We'd love to see your garden, a particular collection of plants you love, or a wonderful garden you had the chance to visit! To submit, send 5-10 photos to along with some information about the plants in the pictures and where you took the photos. We'd love to hear where you are located, how long you've been gardening, successes you are proud of, failures you learned from, hopes for the future, favorite plants, or funny stories from your garden.
