If you buy a house in full, you don't have to pay a mortgage since you're not borrowing money to make the purchase. However, you'll still need to cover other ongoing expenses like property taxes, homeowners insurance, maintenance and repairs, and potentially homeowners association (HOA) fees. Buying a house outright avoids interest payments on a loan but doesn't eliminate all homeownership costs.
