When Scope Creep Leads to Unexpected Professional Liability
When Scope Creep Leads to Unexpected Professional Liability
Abstract
During the design development phase of the new 10-front building, an owner purchased an adjacent building along an urban river. It included a limited assessment of the existing documents and conducting a visual review for a $2,500 fee for a visual fee. The owner sued SE Design for negligent performance of professional services in conducting an improper assessment. The added cost wreaked havoc with project financing. If your firm does perform an SCA, it can be wise to turn down the SCA. For more information, please contact the SE Design. The SCA report is intended for the client.
