Green light for next two Manchester NOMA jobs
Abstract
Developer MEPC aims to set a new city benchmark for sustainability, wellbeing and smart connectivity with the next phase of its northern gateway regeneration scheme. The planned buildings - 2 and 3 Angel Square - have been designed by architect Cartwright Pickard and will complement the landmark 1 Angel Square, and 4 Angel Square, which is due to be completed in early 2023. Work is due to start following completion of 4 Angel Square. Planned to be net zero carbon operational energy, the building design is targeting BREEAM Outstanding and a five-star NABERS rating. Other features include: a potential rooftop restaurant, garden terraces including a water feature, a piano nobile terrace overlooking Angel Square and lower and upper ground floor commercial retail uses. Dan Hyde, Development Director at MEPC, said: "This is a fantastic step forward for NOMA and a huge vote of confidence in our vision for a people-focused city centre neighbourhood which celebrates Manchester's rich heritage while embracing innovation and sustainability.
