Desiree Balke loves seeing her client’s faces light up on closing day. “It’s really special to be a part of that moment,” she says. “People expect this experience to be stressful, so when it’s time to exchange keys, it’s great to hear them say, ‘Hey! You know what? That wasn’t so bad after all.’” Desiree began cultivating her excellent customer service skills at a young age, beginning in the restaurant industry as a hostess before working her way up through bartending and management. While living on the east coast, her people-first mindset initially drew her to life insurance and human resources, although real estate remained an active interest. “I always wanted to do it, to help people,” Desiree explained. “When my husband and I moved back to the Pacific Northwest, I finally went back to school to study for my real estate license.” As an agent, Desiree prides herself on communication and dependability. Desiree believes that there are no bad questions in real estate, and encourages her clients to call, text, or email at any time for any reason. Her emphasis on communication has resulted in a proven track record of success and a strong network of industry professionals willing to lend a hand. “I measure my success in ‘thank yous,’” says Desiree. Desiree believes there’s no place quite like her hometown of Edmonds, Washington.
