Senate Panel Clears Bhatt, Biden's Pick to Lead FHWA
Abstract
The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee on Nov. 29 cleared Shailen Bhattโs nomination by a voice vote, apparently unanimously. The next step is a vote by the full Senate. If confirmed, he would face the daunting task of continuing to roll out the funding and implementing the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The committee deadlocked, 10-10, on another Biden nominee, Joseph Goffman. Since January 2021, Goffman has been working at the Environmental Protection Agency for air and radiation. The Senate majority leader must make a motion to make aMotion to discharge his nomination. The committee has a motion for the full House of Representatives to consider the nomination for the nomination. He has been in a non-Senate confirmed position.
