Friend of the GPOD Cherry Ong took a trip recently from her home on the west coast of Canada to Toronto and sent in some shots from gardens she was able to visit. We’re with Cherry Ong today, tagging along on a garden tour she did earlier this year during a trip to the Toronto area. According to the brochure Cherry received for the tour, this woodland planting is the garden of a professional gardener who likes to garden in harmony with nature, using nothing but fallen leaves to fertilize and enrich the soil. I had a serendipitous discovery when we visited Boundary Bay in Tsawassen, British Columbia, in a district called Southlands Tsawassen. This show is the nation’s largest, and the world’s longest-running horticultural event, having begun in 1829. Over the years the show has been held indoors in early March, but the pandemic has forced it to be outdoors the last two years.
