NAHB: Builder Confidence Falls For 6th-Straight Month
Abstract
NAHB/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index (HMI) fell two points in June to 67, the lowest HMI reading since June 2020. Builder confidence continued to slide for the sixth consecutive month in June. Rising inflation and higher mortgage rates curtailed prospective homebuyers, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) said today. All three HMI indices posted declines in June. The results were released after NAHB officials met last week. The HMI and HUD officials met to discuss policies that could help the housing industry.
