The 17 ‘stilt homes’ were built on massive platforms that cantilever out over the edge of a steep slope, looking down onto the valley below. The stilt homes were originally designed by legendary architect Richard Neutra for the Stone-Fisher development company. The Platform Homes of Sherman Oaks were completed between 1962 and 1966. One of the seventeen original Platform Homes has just hit the market for $2.05 million. The two-bedroom and two-year-old home is now on the market. The property has been listed for $3.5 million. It has the bones of the original Neutra-designed home, but features high-end modern finishes.
