"American Idol" star Clay Aiken is bidding farewell to his home in Raleigh, NC. It's now on the market for $980,000. The "Rare" retreat in North Raleigh includes a living room with a fireplace as well as glass doors that open outside. Other highlights include a game room, an enclosed porch, and a room over the garage. Durham domicile Aiken, an activist and a two-time political candidate, sold a mansion in nearby Durham in 2014 for $1.59 million. After placing second on the second season of "American Idol" in 2003, the fan favorite went on to release a multiplatinum album, "Measure of a Man." He released multiple records, selling over 5 million albums. Aiken co-founded the National Inclusion Project, and in 2003, he became a UNICEF ambassador. Aiken jumped into the Democratic primary for North Carolina's 4th congressional district in January 2022, but placed third.
