Black Developers Elevate Community Needs in Major Projects
Abstract
A new crop of projects have offered the same broad scope, but with the same scope of projects. People of color held roughly 13 percent of leadership roles in commercial real estate in 2021, an improvement of 1.4 percent from the previous year. In Chicago, the redevelopment of the Michael Reese Hospital campus, now called Bronzeville Lakefront, has committed to a diverse work force. Other megaprojects has offered the similar scope. The new generation has offered a new range of projects. The shift comes to a new series of projects with leadership that mirrors the community.
