Basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal has scooped up a swanky estate in the Dallas suburb of Carrollton, TX.

In an Instagram post, real estate agent Zac Gideo shared a photo with the NBA champion.

“Shaq & Zac has a nice ring to it,” Gideo wrote. “It was a pleasure and an awesome opportunity to help you find your new home in Dallas.”

Realtor.com® was able to confirm that the superstar has indeed found a sweet spot in the Lone Star State.

While the final sale price wasn’t disclosed, the home built in 2005 was last on the market in April for $1,224,900.

Massive mansion

The 5,269-square-foot residence with five bedrooms and seven baths features a great room with a soaring ceiling, gas fireplace, and wall of windows looking out to the pool.

Just adjacent, an open kitchen comes with high-end appliances, granite counters, and a large island.

There’s also a formal dining room topped with a chandelier, as well as a breakfast room for casual dining.

If the big fella needs to work from home, the main level comes with a deluxe office with a tiered ceiling, fireplace, and built-in shelving.

Upstairs, there are four bedroom suites, including the primary bedroom, which features a large sitting area, dramatic lighting, and spa bath.

There’s another en suite bedroom downstairs. Other amenities include a gym, home theater, and three-car garage. 

The backyard comes with an awning-covered patio, a large pool with a spa, and a rock waterfall.

O’Neal is reconnecting with his roots. The basketball Hall of Famer spent some of his childhood in San Antonio, where he played high school ball and won the title of the Texas “Mr. Basketball.”

The MVP spends most of his time as a sports analyst on TNT, but his chain restaurant Big Chicken is expanding to the Dallas area and other parts of the Lone Star State, according to local news reports. This could explain his sudden interest in Texas real estate.

Shaq-apulco sale

Of course, the 50-year-old is no stranger to real estate deals. O’Neal finally sold his longtime Florida compound after three years, five agents, and multiple price cuts.

Initially listed for $28 million, the 4-acre spread was eventually sold for $11 million.

O’Neal had picked up the waterfront property for $3.95 million in 1993. He customized the 31,000-square-foot megamansion over the years.

Once the home was updated and the Shaq memorabilia banished to the closet, it finally sold, albeit at a huge discount.

O’Neal retired from the NBA in 2011 after a stellar 19-year career, including four NBA championships. He’s spending time in Atlanta, where he’s an analyst for “Inside the NBA” on TNT.
