Former ‘Today’ Host Matt Lauer Reportedly Sells Waterfront Hamptons Estate
Abstract
Disgraced former NBC "Today" host Matt Lauer has finally sold his Hamptons home, according to the New York Post. Lauer, who was fired from his job at NBC after accusations of sexual misconduct came to light, bought the property in 2016 for a reported $36.5 million from actor Richard Gere. Although Lauer paid a sky-high amount, Gere had initially sought $65 million for the Sag Harbor, NY, spread. After his split from wife Annette Roque, Lauer listed the luxe property in June 2019 for $44.8 million. The waterfront residence was relisted in fall 2019 for $43.99 million. With a total of 12 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms, the compound includes a 6,552-square-foot main house. The spacious spread includes an 8,000-square-foot, six-bedroom main house. Previously, Lauer sold his New York City apartment on the Upper East Side for $7 million in 2018..
