Elliman Gives Back: National Day of Service Supports Causes and Communities in Need | Elliman Insider
Abstract
From volunteering at food pantries in Connecticut, California and Texas to joining a community garden cleanup in Boston to pedal-powered fundraising in New York City and The Hamptons, members of the extended Douglas Elliman family gave their time, energy and empathy to participate in Elliman Gives Back, the company's second annual national day of service this past Saturday, October 1. In Florida and around the country, Elliman agents and staff kicked off a fundraising campaign for Hurricane Ian victims in partnership with the American Red Cross. Douglas Elliman has pledged to match every dollar donated to its Red Cross campaign. In California, Elliman Angelinos worked at Project Angel Food to help prepare more than 1,700 nutritious, medically tailored meals for people living with life-threatening illnesses, while the Santa Barbara contingent volunteered with Adam's Angels, a nonprofit founded by Elliman agent Adam McKaig, assembling more than 300 bags of non-perishable food items to serve 60-80 guests experiencing hardship within the community. A day-long food drive in Aspen to collected and helped to distribute fresh and shelf-stable food for local food pantries, as well as those serving Carbondale, Glenwood Springs, New Castle, Rifle and Parachute. Elliman Bostonians helped to clean a community garden and promote equitable food access at Groundwork Somerville, an organization in Somerville, Mass., that educates the public on sustainable urban farming and the importance of food justice. In Greenwich, Conn., agents and staff volunteered at Neighbor to Neighbor to provide access to food, clothing and basic living essentials to community members in need.
