Visiting the world's largest tree could land you in jail
Abstract
Hyperion has been certified by the Guinness World Records to be the tallest living tree in the world today. It was first discovered by naturalists in 2006 and has since then attracted environmentalists, thrill seekers and media personalities. The tree sits deep in the park in a location without trails, more people have continued to flock to its location. There are no trails or cellphone coverage with limited GPS service. In 2021, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks took extreme measures to protect the tree.
