It Rocks: $900K New Mexico Home Looks To Be Carved From Surrounding Stones
Abstract
"When you drive up, it looks like a cloud kind of sitting on the hill and you're kind of looking at it going, 'I've never seen anything like this,'" says Maya Hiersoux. "It's magical." Artsy abode And here's the surprise: The home looks like it's carved into the rock, but it actually isn't. "Even with the weathering of time, it truly looks like the rock. It's kind of hard to [see] where the rock ends and where the house begins," Hiersoux says. Think 'outside the box' The current owners bought the one-bedroom, 1.5-bathroom home in 2017 and overhauled it. The main home comes with ceiling fans, but no air conditioning, and there's a new, detached garage that's air-conditioned. The home sits on 5.18 acres high on a hill with terraces for enjoying the views of the valley below. The perfect buyer "Is someone with a sense of humor who wants privacy and who loves something unique and different who thinks outside the box," Hiersoux says.
