Erin’s New Hampshire Garden - FineGardening
Abstract
Below, carpets of creeping phlox fill the garden with color. It's hard to imagine a New England garden without a stone wall of some kind. Hollyhocks are classic cottage-garden plants but are not as commonly seen in gardens today. Creeping phlox in the foreground echoes additional plantings visible in the background, which ties the whole garden together. Dense plantings cover every inch of the ground with foliage, giving a lush, full sense to the garden and making it much harder for weeds to get a toehold. Have a garden you'd like to share? Have photos to share? We'd love to see your garden, a particular collection of plants you love, or a wonderful garden you had the chance to visit! To submit, send 5-10 photos to along with some information about the plants in the pictures and where you took the photos. We'd love to hear where you are located, how long you've been gardening, successes you are proud of, failures you learned from, hopes for the future, favorite plants, or funny stories from your garden.
