High Court Case Review Frees Jailed 'Buffalo Billions' Contractor CEO
Abstract
Justices agree to hear the case that challenges legal theory behind the 2018 federal bid-rigging conviction related to Louis P. Ciminelli, the former CEO of a once high-profile Buffalo construction firm, and others involved in the “Buffalo Billions’s” development pay to-play scheme. The defendants were found guilty of fraud for deliberately withholding important financial information. It is not clear when they will be released. The current Supreme Court will agree with their strategy and reverse the convictions.
