Professional services firm Dewberry announced it has hired Jeff PeQueen to serve as the firm’s senior project engineer in its water practice, with an emphasis on stormwater site/civil design in Dewberry’s Lakeland, Fla., office. PeQueen has more than 33 years of experience and has worked on a variety of projects in Central Florida, currently serving as the senior civil designer on the McIntosh Wetlands Preserve Phase II in Plant City. 

Gregg Hudock

Gregg Hudock has joined professional consulting firm Freese and Nichols to lead the firm’s water resource projects in the Southeast. With a broad range of expertise in dams for water supply, flood control, recreation and industrial use, Hudock, who is based in Atlanta, will help clients address dam safety issues, water supply needs and flood-impact mitigation. 

Arthur Bergens has been named president and CEO of Durham, N.C.-based service organization Bell and Howell. Formerly president and COO, Bergens takes the helm following the retirement of CEO Larry Blue. Bergens joined the company in early 2014 as CFO and has decades of global leadership experience across a diverse group of private and publicly held companies. 

Environmental, facilities, geotechnical and materials services firm Terracon has named Tim Cleary its national manager of in situ services in the company’s Raleigh office. Cleary, who brings more than 30 years of experience leading exploration operations serving consulting engineers and geologists, will lead the company’s in situ and direct push-site investigation services and lead a group to develop standards for advanced site characterization services. 

Scott Yates has joined architecture, engineering, geospatial and strategic consulting firm Woolpert as director of digital transformation, joining the firm’s strategic consulting team in St. Petersburg, Fla. Throughout his 12 years of industry experience, Yates has risen from business analyst to consulting manager to vice president of operations to chief operating office. 

Consulting, engineering, and systems integration company aeSolutions has appointed Chris Neff as vice president of project development. Neff will lead the company’s new project development team, which is set to manage the launch of its client success model. Neff brings 25 years of experience executing capital projects in chemical, onshore and offshore oil and gas, utilities, infrastructure, power and mining. 

Julia Ruffing

After joining Hanson Professional Services in its Sarasota, Fla., office as an intern in 2020, the company has hired Julia Ruffing as an aviation civil designer, assisting with design and construction services for general aviation and commercial service airports throughout Florida. 

 

Christopher Reynolds

Aviation civil engineer Christopher Reynolds has joined Hanson in its Orlando office to provide services to aviation clients, including designing airport infrastructure and construction contract administration. 

Design, engineering and construction firm Stellar announced two changes to its leadership team in September, including naming Richard Lovelace executive vice president of its commercial/military group and Kurt Warzynski as senior vice president of Stellar’s food group. Lovelace has more than 25 years of experience in design and construction throughout commercial markets, and Warzynski has more than 24 years of experience in the food and beverage industry.

Jeremy Branch has joined engineering firm Neel-Schaffer as water resources engineer, based in the company’s Chattanooga office. Branch has more than 10 years of experience in water resources engineering, including six with the Albuquerque District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. 

Architecture, design and planning firm announced the opening of a new office in Nashville, and Christopher Goggin and Kelly Cathey as co-managing directors to lead it. Goggin brings more than 30 years of experience to the role, including 24 with Gensler, and Cathey brings 22 years of experience across multiple markets. 

Infrastructure consulting firm AECOM has hired Maj. Gen. (Ret.) James Trogdon as its North Carolina transportation lead, based in Raleigh. Trogdon will oversee a broad range of infrastructure projects spanning numerous market sectors across the state. 

Syska Hennessy Group promoted Alex Myers to principal in its Charlotte office. Myers brings 17 years of experience to the role, and as a member of Syska’s critical facilities “green team,” focuses on incorporating sustainable design into projects. The company has also promoted Daniel Johnson to associate principal in the Charlotte office, who brings more than 16 years of experience in project management and design of electrical systems.
