6 US-Mexico border projects funded by the IIJA
Abstract
The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act designates $3.4 billion to build and modernize land ports of entry on the country’s borders through the General Services Administration. In July, Biden and Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador agreed to a multi-year joint border infrastructure modernization effort. The land port upgrades aim to strengthen commerce and create good-paying construction jobs. The project will also help Customs and Border Protection's mission to safeguard U.S. borders.
