John Yonushewski Selected as 2023 Colorado Legacy Award Winner
Abstract
John Yonushewski grew up on the East Coast with a contractor for a father. He grew up in Long Beach Island, N.J., and attended Clemson University to learn architecture. In 1995 he paired with like-minded architect Brad Buchanan to form a group that helped reshape downtown Denver with housing types of all varieties. In 2005, he remade a warehouse building in Denver into residential space. The partnership worked for more than a decade. In 2007, he set in motion. The couple worked for a building. The pair worked for over 10 years. In 2008, the partnership worked to create a new apartment building in downtown Denver. In 2009, the building was a new public plaza in the city of Cherry Creek, Colorado.
