Abstract

The yield on 10-year Treasury notes inched up to 2.83 from 2.82% (Bad for mortgage rates) Energy prices play a prominent role in creating inflation and also point to future economic activity. ‘Greedy’ Investors push bond prices down (and interest rates down and interest rates up) But this is an imperfect relationship. The opposite may happen. But the words “possible” and “might” are doing some heavy lifting there. And it’s too soon to assume inflation is yet easing up. Still, it does mean I’m less confident. There’�s now hope they won’t, but it's not the kind of hope you can yet bank on.
