$600K Quirky Time Capsule Built by Artist Is a Feast for the Eyes
Abstract
The quirky, spacious home that served as a source of inspiration for artist Kenneth Wyatt is for sale for the first time. He built the jaw-dropping, 8,307-square-foot home in Tulia, TX, for himself and his family in 1969. "The part of the house that was added on was his gallery, so people would come from all over the world to see his art in his home." And what a home it is. A fulfillment center for reproductions was built on top of a tennis court on the home's grounds. The home has four bedrooms and six bathrooms and is kind of a time capsule, with a loft area that overlooks the gallery below, shag carpeting, and a lot of dark wood. "It's one of the most beautiful homes in the town for sure, but it's going to take somebody that has an eye and wants to update [it] to 2022. It could be incredible." She suggests turning the wood-clad gallery into a den or man cave.
