Ambition, Outreach Make PC Construction ENR Southeast's 2021 Contractor of the Year

In 2021, PC Construction was able to clear the lingering hurdles of the COVID-19 pandemic, growing revenues and clearing a new hurdle: completing its most ambitious project yet on its way to its latest accolade of earning ENR Southeast’s Contractor of the Year honor.

It was a year of large-scale water infrastructure projects for PC Construction, including the $321 million Atlanta Water Supply Program led by PC in a construction manager-at-risk joint venture.

The project converted a 400-ft-deep quarry into a 2.4-billion-gallon water storage facility and installing a 5-mile, 10-ft diameter tunnel to connect the quarry to the Hemphill and Chattahoochee water treatment plants. It was recognized as ENR Southeast Project of the Year, and is the company’s largest individual project to date.

PC also completed the $93-million Richland Creek Water Supply Program in Dallas, Georgia in 2021, a project which won the 2022 AGC Construction Risk Partners Build America Award.

The employee-owned company increased revenues across the board by 40%, and in the Southeast region by 10%.

Amid that larger to-do list, PC also dove in to organize food drives, educational opportunities and additional community contributions, including through its PC Gives Back program that resulted in a $10,000 donation to the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting and preserving the Chattahoochee River.

Those reasons and more led ENR editors to select PC as the Southeast Contractor of the Year from a field of 122 survey responses representing $46.2 billion in revenues for work in Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Puerto Rico.
